Our Story

We noticed a need for fun, fresh, and functional gear to protect kids on the water, and that’s how Snapper Rock was born.

Snapper Rock started in 2003 when we moved from New Zealand to Annapolis, one of America’s top sailing spots. It began as a brand for junior sailors, but it didn’t take long for us to expand our sun protection range for kids aged 0-16.

Matching Family Swimsuits

By 2016, we introduced an adult line featuring matching Dad prints and timeless silhouettes for Women.  In 2020, we took a big step toward reducing our environmental impact with the launch of our Sustainable Swimwear Collection, made entirely from recycled materials.

Year Round Protection

In 2022 we proudly ventured into new territories with the launch of our eco-friendly outerwear – a natural extension of our swimwear line and giving our customers “happy protection” what ever the weather. This move, along with our efforts to increase the use of recycled materials in our products and packaging, represented another step towards a more sustainable future.

Why Snapper Rock?

We create swimwear with the functionality parents want, combined with the colors and styles kids and teens love.

UPF50+ Protection

All of our swimwear is rated UPF50+, meaning it blocks 98% of harmful UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) rays. No chemicals here—our sun protection comes straight from the weave of our fabric.

Fabric Technology

Our fabrics are lightweight, breathable, and quick-drying, without sacrificing style. Designed and tested in New Zealand, where the ozone layer is thin, we know a thing or two about sun protection.

With cutting-edge fabric technology, vibrant colors, and on trend designs, Snapper Rock continues to lead the market with our extensive range of prints and styles.

We love summer, the sun, and all the Vitamin D it gives us—but like everything else, it’s about balance. We want kids to enjoy carefree summers, just like we did, and with Snapper Rock, you can relax knowing they’re protected from the sun.

Have a rock’n summer!
